BRIEF ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

  • Creative Art Technology (CAT), is a programe designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in Interior and Exterior Decoration, Sign-Writing, Spray-Painting and Decorative effects such as rag rolling stippling and Screen Painting.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

PRIMARY AIM

The central aim is to equip learners with marketable technical skills in the creative industries, enabling them to transform artistic concepts into high-quality products and services that drive economic growth and cultural preservation in Ghana.

The curriculum is structured around several key pillars to ensure students are industry-ready upon graduation:

Technical Mastery and Innovation
  • Digital Integration: To train students in the use of modern technology, such as Graphic Design software (Adobe Suite), 3D modeling, and digital photography.

  • Material Science: To provide a deep understanding of the properties and applications of various media, including textiles, wood, clay, and sustainable recycled materials.

  • Production Techniques: To master the technical processes of manufacturing, such as industrial screen printing, ceramics casting, or jewelry fabrication.

Applied arts focus on the artistic and design aspects, while building technology deals with the technical and engineering principles required to bring those designs to life. Together, they play a crucial role in architecture, interior design, construction, and urban planning.
Drawing and Designing are fundamental skills in various creative and technical fields, including art, architecture, engineering, fashion, and product design. These skills involve the ability to visualize ideas, communicate concepts, and create detailed plans for execution
Technical Drawing is a precise and detailed form of drawing used to visually communicate ideas, designs, and specifications for objects, structures, or systems. It is a fundamental tool in fields such as engineering, architecture, manufacturing, and construction.
