Brief History of Ahorlu House

The name, Ahorlu is the Awadada (the Warlord) of Anlo ethnic group.

The name, Ahorlu is the Awadada (the Warlord) of Anlo ethnic group. Historically and current, the Awadada plays a major role in the Anlo traditional issues, and the Ahorlu is an important historical and traditional name for the Anlos.

The house is one of the leading houses in sports, especially soccer and the students of the Ahorlu house wear the green colour. The house due to its nature is named, the Green house or the Warlords. Mr Emmanuel Tamakloe is the current Ahorlu house master. In athletics, the numbering for the house is 001 to 025. You cannot mention athletics without the Ahorlu house due to how good they are in it.

Aims and Objectives

The house seeks to;

  • Set higher disciplinary standard among the members of the house.
  • Improve Sanitation in and around the house
  • Win Gold in sports discipline
  • Improve the attitude of the members towards work generally.

Achievements

The house chalked several successes in the following areas:

  • Sanitation and cleanliness

When it comes to sanitation and cleanliness, the custodians cater for seven (7) lawns and still we never exit the first position during Inter-House Sanitation inspections. For about five consecutive times, the house won the most hygienic and orderly house. Even during general grounds work, no house does it faster and cleaner than we do. By now you should known that the custodians have a good reputation in sanitation and cleanliness

  • Sports and Games

With the sports and games, we always strive for the best. The house members are multi-talented therefore produce a sizable number of sport boys and girls for the institute and many trophies are won

  • Discipline

In terms of discipline, the custodians are noted for their regularity and time consciousness to social gatherings. A true custodian always signs his/her exeats before leaving the four walls of The Great ANTECH. Due to the law-abiding attitude of the members, The Assistant Girl’s Prefect, The Assistant Prep Prefect and many more are all members of AHORLU HOUSSE

SOME PROBLEMS

The major challenges of Kwasikuma house are the over population of the students in the dormitory, also the students do not have enough bed to sleep on.
