BRIEF ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
- Creative Art Technology (CAT), is a programe designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in Interior and Exterior Decoration, Sign-Writing, Spray-Painting and Decorative effects such as rag rolling stippling and Screen Painting.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
PRIMARY AIM
The central aim is to equip learners with marketable technical skills in the creative industries, enabling them to transform artistic concepts into high-quality products and services that drive economic growth and cultural preservation in Ghana.
The curriculum is structured around several key pillars to ensure students are industry-ready upon graduation:
Technical Mastery and Innovation
Digital Integration: To train students in the use of modern technology, such as Graphic Design software (Adobe Suite), 3D modeling, and digital photography.
Material Science: To provide a deep understanding of the properties and applications of various media, including textiles, wood, clay, and sustainable recycled materials.
Production Techniques: To master the technical processes of manufacturing, such as industrial screen printing, ceramics casting, or jewelry fabrication.

Digital Content & Graphic Design Specialist:This path focuses on the digital application of art. With the rise of Ghana’s digital economy, technologists are needed to translate brand identities into visual assets.
Industrial Painter & Surface Finisher: A unique technical path in the TVET sector, this role bridges the gap between art and building technology. Unlike a general laborer, a Creative Arts Technologist specializes in high-end aesthetic finishes.
Signage & Brand Identity Fabricator:This path involves the physical construction of commercial advertisements. It is a high-demand trade in urban centers like Accra and Kumasi.
Freelance Creative Entrepreneur:Many TVET graduates choose the path of self-employment, leveraging their “hands-on” training to start a business.
