I invite you all to be active participants in this vibrant ecosystem of learning and discovery. Let’s power innovation together, with every idea, every gear, every breakthrough. Welcome once again to a department where mechanics meets momentum.
BRIEF ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Mechanical Engineering Technology, as offered in ANLO TECH.INT. is a dynamic program that blends foundational science with practical, hands-on learning. It equips students with the skills to design, fabricate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems that power industries—from automotive and manufacturing to energy and construction. With a focus on real-world application, the program emphasizes core areas like thermodynamics, machine design, welding and fabrication, and industrial automation. Students gain both classroom instruction and workshop experience, preparing them for direct entry into the workforce or further technical studies.
n Ghana’s drive toward industrialization and skills-based development, Mechanical Engineering Technology plays a vital role. The program not only nurtures technical aptitude but also fosters creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship—qualities essential for national growth. Graduates are empowered to take on roles as technicians, easeartisans, or innovators, helping to build and maintain the infrastructure that drives the nation forward.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
PRIMARY AIM
The primary aim of the MET course under the CBT framework is to produce Technician Engineers who possess the practical dexterity and mental agility to design, install, and maintain mechanical systems.
Specifically, the program aims to:
Drive Industrial Growth: Supply the technical manpower for Ghana’s “One District, One Factory” (1D1F) initiative and the automotive assembly plants (e.g., VW, Kantanka, Toyota).
Bridge the Skills Gap: Align the training of students with the actual technical requirements of mining, oil and gas, and manufacturing firms.
Standardize Competence: Ensure that a graduate from any TVET institution in Ghana can perform mechanical tasks to a globally recognized industrial standard.
Foster Entrepreneurship: Equip students with the ability to manage small-to-medium scale engineering workshops and fabrication centers.
